Terms and Conditions

These terms are an agreement between you and ASK GEORGE PTE. LTD. (“Ask George”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in Singapore. They cover the Ask George mobile app and this website. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use Ask George.

Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information and forms part of these terms.

1. What Ask George is — and what it is not

Ask George is a platform that introduces job seekers and employers. Job seekers record a short video profile; employers post roles and decide who they want to talk to. When both sides express interest, we open a conversation between them.

Checking that the other side is who they say they are, and that a role or a candidate is genuine and suitable, remains your responsibility. Take the same care you would with any introduction made online.

2. Who can use Ask George

You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. If you use Ask George on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for that company, and “you” includes that company.

3. Your account

• Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Your account is yours alone. Do not share it or let anyone else use it.
• Keep your sign-in details secure. Tell us promptly at operations@ask-george.com if you think someone else has access.
• You are responsible for what happens on your account.

4. Your content

Your video profile, photos, job listings, messages and anything else you add stay yours. We do not claim ownership of them.

To run the service, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display that content for the purpose of operating and improving Ask George — for example, showing your video profile to employers, or your job listing to job seekers. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we are required to keep a copy by law, and except for copies another user has already lawfully saved.

You confirm that you own or have the rights to everything you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

5. What you may not do

• Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent who you are, who you work for, or a role you are advertising.
• Post anything unlawful, misleading, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or violent.
• Post a listing that is not a genuine job, or use the service to advertise anything other than employment.
• Ask another user for money, payment details, or identity documents through Ask George.
• Discriminate unlawfully against candidates, or advertise roles on terms that break employment law where the role is based.
• Collect or scrape other users’ information, or use the service to send unsolicited marketing.
• Interfere with the service, attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours, or work around any security or access control.
• Use anything you see on Ask George for any purpose other than hiring or finding work.

6. Reporting and enforcement

You can report a job listing, a profile or a message from the … menu on each. We review reports and may remove content, or suspend or close an account, where we believe these terms or the law have been broken. We may also act where we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why, but we may act without notice if the issue is serious or urgent.

7. Paid job listings

Publishing a job listing may require payment. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, and purchases are processed by Apple or Google through the App Store or Google Play — not by us. Their terms and refund policies apply to the transaction, and refund requests go to them.

A paid listing entitles you to publish that listing. It is not a promise of applications, of candidates of any particular standard, or of a hire.

8. Availability

We work to keep Ask George running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and we may stop offering the service in a country. Where a change materially reduces what you have paid for, we will give you notice.

9. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law — including, where they apply, the consumer guarantees under Singapore or Australian consumer law.

Subject to that: Ask George is provided as it is, we are not responsible for the conduct of any user or for anything that comes out of an introduction made on the platform, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost opportunities or lost data. Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or SGD 100.

10. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time — see Delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to. Sections that by their nature should survive — content licences already granted, liability, and governing law — continue to apply afterwards.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Ask George after that means you accept the updated terms. The date below shows when this version was published.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. You and we agree that the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, except that we may seek urgent injunctive relief in any court with jurisdiction, and except where the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.
