Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your Ask George account and the data associated with it. Ask George is operated by ASK GEORGE PTE. LTD.

1. Delete your account in the app

This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately.

1. Open the Ask George app and sign in.
2. Go to the Profile tab.
3. Tap Account Settings.
4. Tap Delete Account.
5. Confirm by tapping Delete Account in the dialog.

2. Delete your account by email

If you can no longer sign in, or you have already removed the app, email operations@ask-george.com from the email address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”. We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours before we act, so that nobody else can close your account. We will complete the request within 30 days.

3. What is deleted

When your account is deleted we remove:

• Your profile details — name, email address, phone number, gender and anything else you added.
• Your video profile, and any photos or images you uploaded.
• Your employment history, qualifications and the locations on your profile.
• Your job applications, likes, matches and shortlists.
• Your messages in Ask George conversations.
• Your sign-in credentials, including any link between your account and Google or Apple sign-in.

4. What we keep, and for how long

• Records we are required to keep by law — for example tax, accounting and payment records relating to purchases made by an employer. These are kept for as long as the applicable law requires and are not used for any other purpose.
• Anonymised and aggregated statistics — figures that cannot identify you or be linked back to you. These may be kept indefinitely.
• Backups — deleted data is removed from our routine backups within 30 days.

Purchases you made through the App Store or Google Play are also recorded by Apple and Google under their own terms. We cannot delete those records on your behalf — contact Apple or Google directly about them.

5. If you manage a company on Ask George

Deleting your personal account does not automatically close a company account or remove job listings published by that company. If you are the person who manages a company on Ask George, email operations@ask-george.com before you delete your account so we can transfer the company to a colleague or close it with you.
